Lionesa BH Hosts Innovation and Sustainability Session for BIN@PORTO 2024 Participants

This past Tuesday, 22nd October, Lionesa Business Hub welcomed participants from BIN@PORTO 2024 for an afternoon dedicated to idea sharing and reflection on innovation, sustainability, and the business community's role. This session formed part of the Business & Innovation Network (BIN@) program, held in Porto, which hosted over 350 delegates from across the globe.

Exploring History and Innovation at the Monastery of Leça do Balio

The event began at 16:30 with a visit to the iconic Monastery of Leça do Balio, headquarters of the Livraria Lello Foundation, where participants were guided through the monastery’s rich history and its iconic Siza Vieira sculpture. Choosing the Monastery of Leça do Balio reinforced Lionesa Business Hub’s commitment to integrating culture and history as essential pillars of a holistic approach to business development and innovation.

After the visit, the group was taken on an interactive tour of the Lionesa Business Hub campus, where they had the opportunity to explore the facilities and experience the inspiring environment that characterizes this unique ecosystem of innovation. Rather than a formal presentation, the guided tour offered a closer, more immersive experience, showcasing Lionesa’s vision of becoming Portugal’s largest valley of technology, innovation, and well-being.

Debate: Innovation through Culture, Community and Human Sustainability

The afternoon’s highlight was a debate titled "Innovation through Culture, Community and Human Sustainability," which brought together three experienced speakers:

  • - Eduarda Pinto, Executive Director of Lionesa Real Estate, who shared insights into the importance of business community and innovation culture in sustainable growth.
  • - Jose-Ignacio Espinoza, Head of Marketing at Hilti, who addressed the role of marketing and corporate adaptability in responding to global sustainability needs.
  • - Violeta Bulc, Founder and Curator of Ecocivilisation, who offered a global perspective on human sustainability and collaborative innovation.

- The debate was moderated by Júlio Martins, Co-Founder and Partner at Everythink, who led the discussion around essential topics such as human sustainability, community cohesion, and the need to foster an organizational culture that values employee well-being.

This panel encouraged a dynamic discussion on how culture and community can catalyze sustainable innovation. The speakers stressed the need for companies to adapt to new paradigms, promoting employees' emotional well-being and professional growth alongside embedding sustainable practices within business models.
