At Lionesa Business Hub, happiness is not just an emotional state, but also a fundamental value to be promoted among the community members. For the International Day of Happiness, celebrated on March 20th, the corridors of Lionesa BH transformed into a space of sharing and good vibes, thanks to the Lionesa Happiness Prescription initiative.

Starting April 2nd, Wednesdays at Lionesa Business Hub will have a new flavor. With the return of this gastronomic initiative, members of the LBH community will be able to enjoy a different lunch break, thanks to a rotating selection of food trucks serving meals on campus.

From March 11th to 14th, 2025, Lionesa Business Hub marked its fourth consecutive presence at MIPIM, the largest international real estate event, held in Cannes, France. As part of the Greater Porto delegation, Lionesa BH reinforced its position as one of Portugal’s leading business hubs, promoting the Greater Porto region as an attractive destination for companies and investors on a global scale.

This past Tuesday, 22nd October, Lionesa Business Hub welcomed participants from BIN@PORTO 2024 for an afternoon dedicated to idea sharing and reflection on innovation, sustainability, and the business community's role. This session formed part of the Business & Innovation Network (BIN@) program, held in Porto, which hosted over 350 delegates from across the globe.

As part of Business Month, organized by CAF Development Bank in collaboration with Casa da América Latina and the Matosinhos City Council, the Lionesa Business Hub welcomed a distinguished delegation of mayors from Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, and Costa Rica, along with representatives from CAF, for a pivotal international networking event. Their visit focused on driving innovation, sustainable growth, and urban investment.

On June 20, 2024, the Lionesa Business Hub will host the much-anticipated Lionesa É Forte :: Arraial de São João. This event, in line with the Hub’s mission to promote corporate happiness and networking, promises an unforgettable celebration.

With summer just around the corner, the Business Club sports activities are back at Lionesa Business Hub! These activities, exclusive to the business hub's community, aim to promote physical activity and the well-being of employees from companies located at the hub's campus.

In September 2010, in the United States, the columnist and writer Dan Savage created a YouTube video together with his partner, Terry Miller, to give hope to young LGBTQI+ victims of violence and discrimination. Even if they had wanted to, they were probably far from imagining that this expression of love and support would become so widespread. They created their own "It Gets Better Project" website, which was shared and disseminated by public figures such as Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and several other personalities both inside and outside the United States of America, where this project born. The goal of the project seemed obvious: through digital content and storytelling, fight hate with love through a powerful message to LGBTQI+ youth that... Yes, IT GETS BETTER!

The Lionesa Business Hub is devoted to building a corporate environment prone to creativity and team spirit, breaking down the stereotypes associated with the word office and associating work with happiness.

Between 12 and 15 March 2024, Lionesa Business Hub participated in the largest international real estate event: MIPIM. Together with Greater Porto, the Hub once again demonstrated its commitment to relevant collaborations aimed at sustainable growth and networking opportunities.

Lionesa Business Hub, alongside Happiness Camp, in collaboration with CP - Comboios de Portugal, launched a campaign on March 20th to mark the International Day of Happiness, to raise awareness about the significant risks associated with mental health.

On March 7th, in Lionesa Business Hub's central corridor, the Lionese community gathered to celebrate women's empowerment and freedom of expression. 

Between 12 and 15 March 2024, MIPIM, the premier international real estate event gathering the most influential players will take place, at the "Palais des Festivals" in Cannes, France. 

On February 6, Lionesa Business Hub once again organized a remarkable edition of the well-known event titled "Your Someone's Type", aimed at promoting blood donation and making a difference in saving lives.

Throughout 2023, Lionesa Business Hub has been recognized as the "Godparents of Porridge" by Gasporto, marking a year of significant impact on the Pfuka U Famba nutritional center in Macia, Mozambique.

At the close of this year, Lionesa Business Hub celebrates the consolidation of its position as a business hub of reference, where innovation, collaboration, community, creativity, and sustainability merge for corporate happiness.

Crafting a Happier Working World

Speaking of socializing, dancing to the sound of good music, sipping refreshing drinks, and celebrating in a festive late afternoon - that's talking about The Reunion at Lionesa Business Hub!

On the 9th of November, the Lionesa Business Hub once again brought together its community for the traditional Magusto, a unique initiative in the Portuguese business sector, considering its scale, ambiance, and dynamics.

The exhibition INFERNO -  DANTE'S JOURNEY BY THE HANDS OF ANTÓNIO CARNEIRO has arrived at the Lionesa Business Hub and will be on display in the central corridor until March 30, 2024.

On the past Thursday, October 19th, Eduarda Pinto, the CEO of Lionesa BH, was a guest speaker at an event dedicated to the importance of ESG practices in the corporate world: "Realizing Potential in ESG," promoted by CBRE.

Lionesa Business Hub made a significant presence at Portugal Digital Summit, which took place on the 17th and 18th of October at Exponor in Matosinhos, marking the first edition held in the North of Portugal.

Throughout the entire month of July, Lionesa Business Hub has transformed into an authentic paradise of colors, flavors, and Latin dances! The Month of  American Culture, with a special emphasis on vibrant Latin America, has enchanted the community in an unforgettable way.

On June 22, Lionesa Business Hub transformed itself into a true "Arraial de São João" and provided a unique party for its community and guests. Unlike any other event, this summer party brought together fun, music, delicious food, tasty drinks and many surprises. However, it was not only a celebration, but also an important opportunity for sharing and networking with a charitable cause.

The Central Corridor of the Lionesa Business Hub was decorated in a special way, with a theme alluding to the typical popular arraial, providing a festive atmosphere for the community to enjoy to the fullest.

The responsibility for the food was left to the Lionesa BH restaurants, such as Picanha Grill, Slash, Garfa, Piccolo Trattoria and The Pastry Lab, which offered a variety of gastronomic menus, from delicious grilled delicacies to irresistible desserts. The Continente brand was also present, offering various snacks and appetisers to complete the experience.

As for the drinks, renowned brands such as Aveleda - with Casal Garcia and Mandriola de Lisboa, Delta, Phunk and SuperBock were responsible for accentuating the mood with their delicious options.

Miguel Bravo, famous participant of the Got Talent Portugal, together with the talented DJs Diogo Fonseca and Henri Josh, set the stage on fire with their amazing performances and energy!

And, as it has been common practice, the Lionesa Business Hub supported in this edition the ANP - WWF - Associação Natureza Portugal and the recognized organization WWF, taking the opportunity to support the work of this association in the protection of fauna and flora. The community contributed directly to this noble cause by purchasing the cups of the event.

In all, it is estimated that more than 3000 people celebrated the anticipated feast of São João at the Lionesa Business Hub, creating unforgettable memories and strengthening community ties in a festive and supportive atmosphere.

The Unilabs laboratory in Lionesa officially opened its doors to offer Clinical Analysis services last Thursday, June 22, 2023. With the objective of expanding its services and area of action, the new collection and examination centre also allows the working community of about 7,000 people to improve their well-being and health by providing various services from collection, testing and examinations.
 
It is now possible for the whole community to visit the laboratory and take tests, facilitating access to it and making health care more accessible.

Unilabs arrived at Lionesa Business Hub in 2020 with the largest molecular biology laboratory of the Unilabs group in the Iberian Peninsula dedicated to COVID-19 testing. Also in 2020 it opened a COVID-19 Diagnostic Testing Unit to perform detection and antibody tests, closing in 2022.

On 5 June 2023, the event "Lusófona on Business", promoted by the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences of Lusófona University, provided a unique opportunity to explore the relevance of relationships between universities and companies in the context of attracting and retaining talent. One of the keynote speakers was Pedro Pinto, CEO of Lionesa Group, who shared valuable perspectives on this crucial topic.

During his participation, Pedro Pinto emphasized the need to transform Portugal into a desirable place for talent, highlighting culture as an agent in the role of increasing happiness and productivity in the work environment. To promote access to culture, Pedro Pinto stressed the importance of establishing agreements to ensure that talent has access to cultural spaces, thus fostering personal and professional development.
"We have to make Portugal a place of desire. Culture generates happiness and productivity. It is possible to offer cheques for access to culture, to prescribe books as medicine, to make agreements so that talent has access to cultural spaces." he underlines.

Universities and companies: a commitment to the future

The need to create a work environment that goes beyond technical skills and considers the well-being and personal growth of professionals is crucial. By establishing a close relationship between universities and companies, it is possible to create opportunities for young talent to find an enriching and inspiring work environment.

Events such as "Lusófona on Business" play an important role in inter-institutional collaboration and in building a bridge between academia and the business community, creating a space for dialogue, the exchange of ideas and the identification of effective strategies to develop and retain talent in Portugal.

Only by establishing solid partnerships between universities and companies can the path "from university to the world of work" become an enriching and rewarding one for all.

On 13 June, Lionesa Business Hub promoted a special event, entitled "Your Someone's Type", with the objective of encouraging blood donation and helping to save lives. In partnership with the Portuguese Blood and Transplantation Institute (IPST), the LBH community and SuperBock Group employees were invited to participate.

During the month of May, the Lionesa Business Hub celebrated African culture, which left the whole community delighted. From the cuisine, to the dance, to the talks, everyone was delighted with some of the wonders that this continent has and that were represented here.

To start, Lionesa BH received Tia Orlanda, who brought her magnificent cooking, which the community loved! They were able to taste cachupa, beans with coconut and mushrooms and curry and chicken moamba. The aromas that spread through the Central Corridor left no one indifferent and everyone wanted to taste these delicious delicacies.

Mestre Aloísio brought a lot of music and animation with his kizomba and afro-dance steps, inviting everyone to participate and dance his choreographies, teaching them step by step.

Last but not least, the community had the opportunity to attend a forum, moderated by Mafalda Fernandes, creator of the Instagram page @quotidianodeumanegra and with the presence of Yara Neves, from Farfecth and Cheila Mogne from VWFS. Sensitive but highly important topics were put on the table: the conversation focused on the role black people in leadership positions, their difficulties and the barriers that still exist today due, for the most part, to racism.

By emphasising the unique experiences and identities present in its community, Lionesa BH intends to be a model an inspiration for other organisations, companies and people, embracing multiculturalism, plurality and diversity.

Lionesa Business Hub is thrilled to announce the arrival of a remarkable new service "O Rapaz da Quinta" (The Farm Boy), a dynamic project that brings the wonders of organic farming to the heart of Lionesa Business Hub.

On May 11th, Lionesa Business Hub hosted another incredible afterwork party: Unstranslatable! This informal networking event was made possible through a partnership with Super Bock and Licor Beirão, who generously provided two complimentary drinks to all members of the Lionesa community. The dance floor was buzzing with excitement as MC Mano and DJ Ricardo Reis took charge of the music, creating an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

Lionesa Business Hub was awarded by Jornal de Negócios as the most sustainable company in Portugal in the category of Human and Social Sustainability, in addition to receiving recognition in the category of health and well-being for micro, small and medium enterprises. The award highlights the commitment to creating a happy and inclusive environment for the community through the Lionesa Happiness Pyramid.

On April 27th, the Lionesa Business Hub hosted the XI International Conference on Research and Intervention in Human Resources, organized by ISCAP - Polytechnic of Porto. The annual event brought together professionals and academics interested in the management and development of people in companies, providing a valuable opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange.

Lionesa Business Hub is excited to celebrate the 6th anniversary of its flagship tech company, ActiveSys. To raise the energy felt among the Lionesa community during the FIFA 2022 World Cup, Lionesa Business Hub will host its edition of a virtual World Cup with an Esports Tournament: Lionesa BH Virtual World Cup in partnership with Nintendo Switch.

During the entire period of the most important competition in the world of football, Lionesa Business Hub will broadcast all matches of the FIFA 2022 World Cup on the LedWall present at central corridor.

On Thursdays during the months of October and November, there was a lot of fun at Lionesa Business Hub with the return of the acclaimed afterwork: The Reunion. 

On November 3rd, 2022, Lionesa Business Hub signed a general cooperation protocol with Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Centro Regional do Porto.

Until the end of 2022, Lionesa Business Hub will promote two solidary campaigns in support of GASPORTO, a NGDO - Non-Governmental Organization for Development, with headquarters in the city of Porto.

On its first edition, HappinessCamp 2022 is already Europe's leading corporate happiness conference. 

Last weekend, on July 2nd and 3rd, Lionesa Business Hub was one of the visiting points integrated in the itinerary of 7th edition of Open House Porto, in 2022.

On June 15th, Lionesa Business Hub hosted the event Linking Great Partners, the stage where 250 students from different courses of the Faculdade de Engenharia (FEUP), namely from the Masters in Informatics and Computing Engineering (M.EIC), the Masters in Software Engineering (MESW), the Masters in Multimedia (MM) and the Masters in Service Engineering and Management (MESG), and also involving 5 students from the Degree in Communication Design (LDC), of the Faculdade de Belas Arte (FBAUP) of the U.Porto. In this event, students had the opportunity to present the work they had been developing throughout the semester to respond to real problems identified by partner organizations and to problems identified in the market, creating an entrepreneurial project from scratch.

Yesterday, Lionesa community had the opportunity to live, in our central corridor, the literary experience of Lello Bookshop in order to celebrate World Book Day.

Last February 15, 2022, the CEO of Lionesa Group, Dr. Pedro Pinto, was one of the speakers at the Conference "Growth and Sustainability in Matosinhos", promoted by Matosinhos Municipality, which took place in the Matosinhos’ Market.

The celebration of Valentine's Day was marked by the "Yours, with love" event that took place in the central corridor of the Lionesa Business Hub from February 5 to 14.

The balance of 2021 is positive for Lionesa Business Hub, in Matosinhos. Five new companies have entered, creating 800 new jobs, which have joined the community of 7,000 employees of more than 40 nationalities.

Between the 14th and 16th of December, Lionesa Business Hub central corridor embraced the Christmas spirit in full splendour.

On the 9th of December, the association APPACDM, Associação Portuguesa de Pais e Amigos do Cidadão Deficiente Mental, was present at Lionesa Business Hub’s central corridor to showcase its work and areas of intervention.

On 9 December 2021, the installation of an AED - Automated External Defibrillation, a fundamental instrument for life saving in cases of cardiac arrest, was successfully carried out at Lionesa Business Hub.

Lionesa Business Hub, in Matosinhos celebrated Magusto with the community!
Throughout the day of November 11th, 2021, at Lionesa’s Business Hub central corridor it was possible to sense the aroma of roasted chestnuts available, free of charge, to all the community members to taste and celebrate this festive day.
This event, Magusto, also included a partnership with Veolia, in the celebration of its 30 years of existence in Portugal.
At the end of the day, the Magusto celebrations joined the usual fun of our famous after works “The Reunion”, which take place every Thursdays, at 05:30pm at Lionesa Business Hub.

“Lionesa Wave Riders” is one of the first activities available to our Lioneses every Saturday, by booking in advance, where they can enjoy free surfing lessons at Onda Pura Surf School, in Matosinhos.

Every Monday, at Lionesa Business Hub the community members can relax at Lionesa Yoga Sessions, that are yoga classes hosted by Niyama Yoga Studio.

The event “Beat Lunch” was the culmination of two events that took place at Lionesa Business Hub, in Matosinhos in the past months: Live Acts and World Sweet Treats.

Last October 25th, 2021 Lionesa Business Hub welcomed the participants of the event focused on inovation taking place in Porto, Bin@Porto, promoted by Business and Inovation Network.

Every Thursday, during the months of october and november, Lionesa’s Business Hub central corridor, in Matosinhos becomes a dance floor, for all the community to relax and chill out at the end of the day.
